Guess I’m not very good at this blog thing, am I? Oh well. I’m not under the delusion that anyone has been reading it anyway. I finished my first year of college this past Thursday. It was kind of a weird feeling, actually. Of course I’m excited to be back home for a good long while now but it’s just gonna be strange to be able to stay in the same place for an extended period of time. It’s nice though. You know what’s not nice? The way the Twins have been playing this season. I have no clue what’s going on but they are not the ball club I’m used to watching. They’re making stupid mistakes, their pitchers could be outdone by Little Leaguers and no one is hitting the ball. It’s incredibly frustrating. I imagine the players themselves are pretty frustrated too. It’s been a rough couple months of the season for everyone in Twins Territory. Perhaps a World Series isn’t in the cards for us this year. But maybe we need to have an extremely dismal season before we can have an incredible, World Series winning season. Twins fans just have to get through this one first. Good things come to those who wait and all those other cliches. I was also bummed that the Penguins’ season ended so soon this year. I thought they had been playing great hockey and had a chance to go pretty far. But I guess it wasn’t meant to be this season. I have no idea where Tampa Bay came from. I didn’t think they were that good of a team. I am glad they swept the Capitals though. Alex Choke-vechkin continues to prove that Sidney Crosby is the best hockey player the NHL has seen in quite some time. Speaking of Crosby, hopefully he’s healthy again when the Penguins’ season starts up again later this year. I know they were winning without him but it’s just not the same. However, if I let myself worry too much Crosby and the Penguins, along with my worries about the Twins and their injuries (don’t even get me started on Mauer), I won’t have a very relaxing summer. I still wear my Twins colors with pride though. At the end of the day, being a fan of a team that’s not having such a good year is still way better than being a Yankees fan.

There are only 28 more days until Spring Training starts. Be prepared for a lot of mention of baseball. Also, hockey season is well under way, which is the sport I obsess over in the winter/baseball offseason. Then once baseball season starts again, I find a way to balance the two. Which is relatively easy, since the Minnesota Twins games are always broadcast on FSN where I live and the Pittsburgh Penguins games are not. Those I just follow along with on Twitter. Occasionally I get lucky enough to catch one of their games on TV. But I don’t count on it. Anyway, I’m sure you found that fascinating, as I’m sure you’ll find everything I have to say fascinating. Really, this is just a way for me to practice my skills until I hopefully get a job as a radio broadcaster for either the Minnesota Twins or the Pittsburgh Penguins. I try to be informed but I don’t pay a lot of attention to stats. I just love the games of baseball and hockey. I’m not an expert on either sport. I’m just a fan, which is the tone my blogs will have. This won’t be strictly a sports blog, of course. I’ll talk about other things. But baseball and hockey are probably what I’ll be talking about the most. Just warning you now.
